Visiting Acrisure Stadium as an Away Fan: The Complete Guide

Acrisure Stadium · 100 Art Rooney Ave, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
★ Terrible Towels, river views, and a walk across the bridge

Acrisure Stadium sits on Pittsburgh's North Shore, across the Allegheny River from downtown, with skyline-and-river views and a sea of waving Terrible Towels. Home to the Pittsburgh Steelers, it's easy to reach — you can even walk across a bridge from downtown — and pairs a passionate crowd with a great setting. Here's how to do a Steelers road trip right.

Getting There

Fly into Pittsburgh (PIT), about 25 minutes from downtown — you'll drive or rideshare in from the airport.

From downtown, you can walk across a river bridge to the North Shore, or take the light rail (the "T"), which is free across the river to the stadium. Very accessible.

Where to Stay

Downtown Pittsburgh is walking distance across the bridge and the ideal base near the city's restaurants and nightlife.

The North Shore near the stadium is another good option, right by the riverfront and the ballpark.

Parking & When to Arrive

There are North Shore lots and garages, and tailgating is a scene, so prepaid parking is smart. But walking the bridge or taking the free T from downtown is easy and iconic.

Arrive early for the riverfront and the bridge walk — the North Shore tailgate and the skyline views make the pregame part of the fun.

Where Visiting Fans Sit

It's a modern stadium with excellent sightlines and no obstructed views, with river and downtown skyline views beyond the open end.

Lower levels are pricier while the upper deck is good value (with the best views). Steelers crowds are passionate but fine for visiting fans.

Food & What to Bring

Get a Primanti Bros sandwich — fries and slaw right in the sandwich — a Pittsburgh institution, plus local staples.

Check the bag policy, as the NFL clear-bag rule applies. It's open-air by the river, so dress warmly for late-season cold.

The Pregame Scene

The North Shore bars near the stadium, plus the walk over the bridge from downtown, make a lively pregame — the Federal Street area buzzes.

Grab a Primanti's and a drink on the North Shore or downtown, then head to the game.

Insider Tips

Walk the bridge or ride the free T from downtown — easy and iconic. Take in the skyline and river views, and get a Primanti's.

Stay downtown, wave a Terrible Towel, and enjoy one of the better-looking, more passionate away environments in the NFL.
