Visiting Lumen Field as an Away Fan: The Complete Guide

Lumen Field · 800 Occidental Ave S, Seattle, Washington
★ The loudest crowd in football, easy on light rail

Lumen Field sits in Seattle's SoDo district just south of downtown, famous for the 12s — the loudest, most intimidating home crowd in football. Home to the Seattle Seahawks, it's walkable from downtown, served by light rail, and a genuinely great atmosphere for a road trip. Here's how to do a Seahawks road trip right.

Getting There

Fly into Seattle–Tacoma (SEA), and take the Link light rail north — the Stadium station is right by Lumen Field.

The stadium is an easy walk from downtown and Pioneer Square, so between light rail and walking you won't need a car.

Where to Stay

Downtown Seattle or Pioneer Square puts you within walking distance of the stadium — the ideal, walkable base.

Anywhere near a Link light rail stop works too, for an easy, traffic-free ride to the Stadium station.

Parking & When to Arrive

There are garages and lots around the stadium if you drive, and prepaid is smart, but the light rail and walking make a car optional.

Arrive early and take in Pioneer Square and the SoDo scene — and get inside early, because the 12s bring deafening noise from kickoff.

Where Visiting Fans Sit

It's a modern stadium with excellent sightlines and no obstructed views, and its open-air, partially-roofed design is engineered to trap and amplify crowd noise — it's genuinely the loudest in the NFL.

Lower levels are pricier while the upper deck is good value. Seahawks fans are intense but it's a fun, welcoming environment for visiting fans.

Food & What to Bring

Get Pacific Northwest touches — salmon, garlic fries — alongside the stadium standards, with Pike Place a short trip away.

Check the bag policy, as the NFL clear-bag rule applies. It's open-air, so bring a rain layer — Seattle weather does its thing.

The Pregame Scene

Pioneer Square, a short walk north, is the pregame hub — historic bars and restaurants — with spots right around the stadium too.

Downtown and Pike Place are a walk or light-rail ride away for more before kickoff.

Insider Tips

Take light rail or walk from downtown — easy and traffic-free. Get in early for the 12s and the deafening pregame.

Stay downtown or in Pioneer Square, pack a rain layer, and enjoy one of the best atmospheres in football.
