Visiting Truist Park as an Away Fan: The Complete Guide

Truist Park · 755 Battery Ave SE, Atlanta, Georgia
★ Baseball's best stadium-adjacent district

Truist Park is a modern ballpark with a killer trick up its sleeve: The Battery Atlanta, a walkable district of bars, restaurants, and live music that wraps right around the gates. Home to the Atlanta Braves in Cobb County northwest of downtown, it's comfortable, fan-friendly, and built for making a whole evening of it. The one catch is logistics — there's no rail transit and Atlanta traffic is real — so plan the drive and get there early. Here's how to do a Braves road trip right.

Getting There

Fly into Atlanta (ATL), a big hub with flights from just about everywhere. Truist Park sits in Cobb County, northwest of downtown.

Here's the key thing to know: there's no rail transit to the stadium, so you'll drive or rideshare — and Atlanta traffic is real, so plan for it. This is not a transit-accessible ballpark.

Where to Stay

Stay right at The Battery — the district next to the stadium has hotels, so you can walk to the game and to the whole bar-and-restaurant scene. It's the most convenient base by far.

Alternatively, stay in downtown or midtown Atlanta for the full city experience and drive over — just budget for traffic getting to and from Cobb County.

Parking & When to Arrive

There are paid lots and decks around the stadium, and prepaid parking is the smart move to lock in a spot and a price. Since you're driving, this is worth sorting in advance.

Arrive early — both to beat the traffic and because The Battery is a whole pregame scene of its own. Note the exit traffic afterward can be slow, so don't plan anything tight right after the last out.

Where Visiting Fans Sit

It's a modern park with excellent sightlines and no obstructed views — comfortable and fan-friendly wherever you sit. The lower levels are pricey, while the upper levels are good value with clean views of the field.

On atmosphere: Braves crowds do the (controversial) Tomahawk Chop, but it's generally fine for visiting fans — wear your colors and enjoy an easygoing, well-run ballpark.

Food & What to Bring

Between The Battery and the park itself you'll find tons of food and drink, plus plenty of Southern staples — this is a spot where you can eat and drink well before you ever reach your seat.

Two practical notes. On bags, Truist is essentially a no-bag park: bags aren't allowed except a small clutch or clear bag no larger than 5"×9", plus medical, ADA, and diaper bags. If you bring more, mobile lockers between the Orange and Truist Tower parking decks can hold it from about $12 per bag. And Atlanta summers are hot and humid — hydrate and plan for the heat at day games. Confirm the current policy before you go.

The Pregame Scene

The Battery Atlanta is the standout — a walkable district of bars, restaurants, and live music right outside the gates, one of the best stadium-adjacent entertainment areas in all of baseball.

It makes for a great pre- and postgame scene, right there — no need to go anywhere else. Show up early, grab food and a drink, and roll straight into the ballpark.

Insider Tips

The Battery is the whole experience, so arrive early and make an evening of it. Remember there's no transit — drive or rideshare and expect Atlanta traffic — and consider staying at The Battery for walkable convenience.

One more: hydrate for the summer heat. Bottom line, this is a modern, comfortable park with a great surrounding district — an easy trip to enjoy once you've sorted the drive.
